Sunfragma Melting Balm SPF 25

with 5* UVA - Broad Spectrum Sunscreen

Vegan ✔ 365 day guarantee ✔ Cruelty-free ✔ Paraben-free ✔

    • Sunfragma is an SPF 25 gel that uses plant-based solvents and best-in-class UVA and UVB filters (Tinosorb® S and Uvinul® A Plus) - taking an approach that maximises cosmetic elegance without using irritating ingredients.
    • Sunfragma plays nice - this product can be layered underneath existing creams or used on its own for SPF protection. Sunfragma can be applied to face and body.
    • Hydroxystearic acid (derived from castor oil) acts as an inhibitor against UVB stress and in-vivo studies have shown it to reduce conspicuous pores and facial spots.
    • Sunfragma is formulated to soften at around 20°C and melt at around 30°C (just below body temperature). This gives it an effortless glide and doesn't require any tedious rubbing-in. Apply a small amount - enough to create an initial "sheen" which will then dry within a minute or two. We recommend a gram for your face to meet the ISO 24444 certification.
    • We believe sunscreen is sunscreen - we don't integrate SPF into our daily moisturisers because evidence shows that people reapply moisturisers less often than they would a sunscreen. Sun protection should do just that and we provide it as a separate product so you can reapply regularly.
    • Zero whitening - Sunfragma won't leave a whitening sheen like mineral creams do while corn-starch helps to provide a dry finish.
    • Sunfragma is alcohol-free, making it great for sensitive skin - in fact it's great for anyone who doesn't like their skin to sting when applying sunscreen.
    • Vegan, paraben-free and definitely not tested on animals.

Looking for SPF?  Layer this underneath a day cream with best in class Tinosorb® S and Uvinul® A Plus sun filters.  UVB SPF rating of 25 and 5 star UVA.

Tinosorb and Uvinul are registered trademarks of BASF.

  • Apply 15 minutes before going into the sun. The average face needs between 1 and 1.2 grams of Sunfragma to provide good protection. This product is formulated for normal wear but do reapply if you sweat a lot, if you get wet, or if you heavily towel your face or body. Avoid contact with fabrics. We recommend you avoid the midday sun (between 11am and 3pm) - seek shade and cover up. Overexposure to the sun is a serious health threat.
  • coco-caprylate (plant-derived oil), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (Tinosorb S), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (Uvinul A Plus), corn starch modified (plant derived thickener), hydroxystearic acid (plant derived thickener).

Only used once so far. Wasnt expecting the consistency but was fine once on. Made my skin a bit shiny but what suncream doesn't! Feels really nice on the skin. Didn't layer it with makeup so cannot comment on how it would be under foundation

Feels a bit oily to begin with but then rubs in and sinks in well. Much easier to apply to the delicate skin of the face than zinc based creams.

Unfortunately this did not agree with me, I ended up having to take antihistamines as I had a reaction but this is the only facetheory product that has done this, I love all the other products.

The sun screen is great very compatible with the night cream which is great for daytime as so smooth and rich for my dry skin

Obsessed! A little goes a long way. Happy to see my skin looking glowing. The conistency is like a light oil and not a cream. It works perfectly with my combination skin.

Good sun protection moisturiser. The texture was more oily than expected, but left skin feeling nice - although be careful using it around the sensitive eye area.

Eleanor Dove

Really good coverage but takes a while to absorb

Much prefer this to moisturisers with SPF as found they tend to be quite thick and greasy for my skin. This SPF balm is a great way to get SPF without clogging up my pores. Highly recommend and would love to see one with a higher SPF in the future!

Used this for the first time really like it I will be ordering again.

I have very sensitive skin and burn easily. I struggle to find sun screen that protects and doesn't cause a reaction. This product works fantastic for both! It is slightly greasy, but that is only a minor issue and the benefits are worth the slight greasiness. Will definitely buy this product again.

Took off a star for how oily it is but I've found the way to apply this to the face is to rub a dab into my palms and then press them into my face. If I just applied it directly to the face, I look like a greaseball, especially in summer.

This is the only sunscreen I have tried that doesn't break me out and the fact it is a balm makes it feel very moisturising and protective in the drying heat of summer! You have to leave it to sink into the skin a bit before applying makeup as otherwise foundation and concealer can slide a bit, but since my skin is clearing up after using facetheory products, I find myself wearing less makeup anyway.

Lovely balm goes on well only need a small amount the only downside is smells like your putting butter on your face but overall I liked it

Works really well. Does feel a bit greasy on the skin- but not thick- light and more like a film. I don’t really mind this though as I have dry skin. Used for a week in Spain with no problems. Really pleased as comes in glass container so reduces plastic and no strong smell. Little goes a long way. Will order again :)

Easy to apply and feels nice on the skin. Smells a little bit more than I’d like (but I am VERY fragrance sensitive...) Weather hasn’t been sunny enough yet to see how it holds up in full-on summer, but so far I’m very happy.

A bit greasy but didn’t make me break out and no sun burn when used

Took a while to get used to the texture, but it glides on and leaves my skin very soft. I apply the primer afterwards and after about 5 minutes, I'm able to apply my foundation. I've only just started using it, but so far so good.

Such a wonderful product. Feels too lovely on the skin to be a suncream.

Rosie Archard

Really smooth application. Doesn’t feel greasy or give me spots like normal sun cream.

Liz King

Love this product. Sinks into the skin really well and hasn't caused any breakouts.

Lorraine Croft

Its a bit greasy for the face but I actually use it for my arms and chest as a general moisteriser to protect from the sun. Glides on and sinks in after a while and makes your skin feel lovely and soft

A little greasy not sure how well it will travel as very soft. Seems to work as a sunscreen ok.

Only need a little to use on entire face and neck, creates a nice sheen that the skin absorbs. I usually put it on after moisturiser but before primer and the rest of my makeup, with a 10-15 minute wait between each step.

Jennifer Vennelle

This is a lovely product that moisturises my dry skin as well as protecting it from the sun.

I was a bit worried about this product after reading some of the reviews about it being greasy, but there was no need to worry as this is another superb product. It does sink into the skin after a couple of minutes and works really well with my make up. However, I do have dry skin.
